AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel will open its doors this August. As a new addition to Vancouver’s luxury hotel landscape, boasting an Art Deco design aesthetic, the stylish 104-room boutique property located at 833 West Pender Street marks the final project for its founder, Vancouver hospitality industry icon Farida Sayani.
AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel has a unique connection to the Executive Hotels group. Founded by Farida and Noordin Sayani, Executive Hotels has been a prominent name in Vancouver's hotel industry for more than three decades. Its first property opened in Richmond in 1986 and was a testament to Noordin's "exceptional development skills and Farida's keen eye for colour, design, and texture," according to the company.
Executive Hotels expanded its brand to encompass four exceptional properties in Downtown Vancouver and Metro Vancouver. When Sofia and Salim Sayani joined the family business, which now operates as Executive Hotels and Resorts, the brand achieved growth on both national and international levels.
The soon-to-open AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel stands as a unique independent project curated by Farida Sayani in collaboration with her daughter, Sofia. With more than 37 years of experience in hospitality and a deep understanding of colour, texture, and design, Farida has created a warm and elegant space in the heart of the city. Spanning 13 elegant floors, the property’s lavishly appointed guest rooms, penthouse suites, and elevated dining options offer locals and visitors alike a true respite from the hustle and bustle of the downtown core.
AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel embodies a sense of understated luxury with its grand marble lobby entrance, plush carpeting, and floor-to-ceiling windows that bathe the interior with natural light. Farida’s personal touches and signature design aesthetic are evident in every aspect of the hotel, from the outstanding exterior clad with imported stone and a brass entry door to the bespoke finishes and hand-picked artworks sourced from local and international artists.
All 104 guest rooms are outfitted with luxe accents such as marble bathrooms, integrated wireless technology, heated floors, illuminated mirrors, soaker tubs and more. The hotel floor plan includes a pair of marquee penthouse-level suites—the Blue Diamond two-bedroom and Opal king suites—appointed with plush linens, gas fireplaces, and private patios with panoramic views.
Fans of Vancouver's renowned culinary scene can delight in the delectable offerings at two unique dining destinations within the AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel. Dahlia Restaurant, located in the lobby, provides a chic setting for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can indulge in a modern menu showcasing diverse world cuisines while seated in the tasteful art-deco-style dining room or on the charming street-side patio.
A truly enchanting culinary journey awaits at the Lavantine Rooftop Restaurant, a custom-designed, garden-like rooftop restaurant. Boasting panoramic views of downtown and the North Shore Mountains, the 14th-floor dining venue offers a relaxed, stylish ambiance and a menu that blends traditional ingredients and flavours from the Levant Region with a signature West Coast touch. The adjacent Skybar provides another locale for guests to unwind and sip classic and contemporary cocktails while admiring stunning vistas of the cityscape below.
The menus at both Dahlia and Lavantine place a premium on showcasing the very best fresh, locally sourced ingredients from British Columbia’s farms, fields and ocean, while the bar programs spotlight imported and local B.C. craft beer, a comprehensive list of classic and contemporary cocktails, and stand-out wines from New- and Old-World regions, with a particular focus on varietals hailing from B.C.’s celebrated Okanagan Valley.
The AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel’s dedicated concierge team offers visitors insider access to Vancouver’s top tourist attractions like the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Granville Island and Science World. The property is home to a multifunctional meeting space ideal for corporate gatherings and intimate private dining events and offers a partnership with a nearby fitness studio where guests can keep up their workout routines while enjoying their stay.
Vancouver’s celebrated natural attractions and recreational facilities are just steps away from the downtown hotel, which means outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of Stanley Park’s hiking and biking trails, tour the waterfront while kayaking along False Creek, or hit the beach to catch a spectacular West Coast sunset.
At its core, AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel aims to demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional service and prioritizing the guest experience. As the first and only hotel in Western Canada to be appointed to the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) portfolio, AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel joins the ranks of more than 400 boutique, luxury properties across more than 80 countries worldwide.
