Barbara Muckermann first female CEO of Kempinski Hotels
Barbara Muckermann is the first female CEO of Kempinski Hotels, joining during a period of significant expansion and growth for the 127-year-old luxury hotel brand.
Kempinski Hotels is Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group.
Muckermann is an expert in luxury and a pioneer in the global travel sector, and has accumulated more than 25 years of experience as a leader in the travel and luxury industry. She is also an advisory board member at Conde Nast Traveler.
Her previous roles were president and chief executive officer, chief commercial officer and chief marketing officer at Silversea Cruises. Before that, she worked at Royal Caribbean Group, World Travel & Tourism Council, CLIA Europe, Yonderbound, CLIA Monaco, CLIA Switzerland, MSC Cruises, London Business School, Norwegian Cruise Line, Loro Piana, SABI SAM and M&MI.
Joining Kempinski at a pivotal moment, she is set to guide the iconic global luxury hospitality brand, which boasts 82 hotels across 36 countries, into a new era of growth — with ambitious plans to expand into new regions and unveil more spectacular properties.
