“We are so pleased to join the Ascend Hotel Collection, both for its outstanding reputation, but also because it allows us to keep our unique identity which we’ve worked so hard to build,” says Richard Lafleur, owner of Cedar Meadows Resort & Spa. “We are confident that joining this internationally recognized brand will support our goal to become a global must-see destination.”

Cedar Meadows Resort & Spa is one of a small number of wolf resorts in the country yet stands apart for its truly immersive experience where the sleeping area is enclosed by glass offering 360˚ views of the wolves, as well as stars and the northern lights when they are visible. The wolves freely roam the 10 surrounding acres of forest which includes a one-acre pond. The original nine wolves came from a zoo and since they arrived in December 2023, four pups have been born.

The resort has 49 suites, five chalets and five Wolf Cabins and is perfectly suited for a wide range of travellers including families and couples due to its comprehensive amenities. These include Spa Grande Nature, where guests can indulge in Nordic Baths, massages, body treatments, facials and more. There are also meeting and banquet facilities for corporate events, weddings or celebrations which can host up to 180 and mouth-watering onsite dining at its restaurant, CM Steakhouse.

Surrounded by nature, the resort also offers daily wilderness tours - available to both guests and the public - that take place each day at 3 p.m.  Keen animal lovers will enjoy spotting wildlife from fallow deer to elk and bison that reside in the 100-acre wildlife park adjacent to the wolves.

“This resort is an incredible addition, and an ideal representation of the Ascend brand and the unique offerings it provides,” says Brian Leon, CEO, Choice Hotels Canada. “The team is savvy, experienced and understands guest wants and needs. The future is bright for this immersive property.”

The resort is always evolving and adding new features with recent design updates made to the lobby, meeting rooms, guest rooms and the restaurant. A modern rustic renovation is being planned for the main building, as well as plans for a two-bedroom log cabin and a few more wolf cabins offering additional accommodations for guests.
