Churchill Wild opened its new hotel this past week—Blueberry Inn in Churchill, Man.
The property offers 15 rooms, including options with queen and twin beds, king/twins and a fully accessible room. Guests can also enjoy a spacious 1400 sq. ft. lounge and a breakfast bar.
Located at 253 Kelsey Blvd. in Churchill, the Inn’s walls tell a story of resilience, growth, and connection to Churchill and the Hudson Bay area. The centrepiece is its history wall, which takes guests on a journey from 1876, when the family first migrated from Iceland to Churchill, highlighting the vision and hard work over the years that transformed Churchill Wild into the world’s leading provider of ground-level polar bear safaris.
Gord Plew, Churchill Wild operations manager, who added that Churchill Wild is doing its best to support the Churchill economy through building material purchases, vehicle and equipment rentals, accommodation rentals for tradesmen, etc. Additionally, almost everything that can’t be bought or rented in Churchill arrives by rail, which works to support the Arctic Gateway Group.
