Destination Canada has released its report on Canada’s travel visitors in September 2023.
In September 2023, Canada welcomed 1.9 million monthly visitors, bringing September arrivals back up to 86 per cent of pre-pandemic levels following a slowdown in the recovery pace in August.
Visitation from Mexico (94 per cent) and the US (92 per cent) recorded the strongest recovery pace this month. Year-to-date arrivals for the first three quarters of 2023 reached 14.5 million, 81 per cent of the arrivals recorded over the same period in 2019.
In addition, the other overnight arrivals from other countries in September were France (89 per cent,) UK (72 per cent,) Germany (70 per cent,) Australia (60 per cent,) South Korea (55 per cent,) Japan (46 per cent) and China (26 per cent.)
