Fairmont Chateau Whistler, B.C. has appointed Ken Hall as general manager. He assumes the role following Norm Mastalir’s retirement.
Fairmont Château Whistler, B.C. has appointed Ken Hall as general manager, assuming the role following Norm Mastalir’s retirement. Hall rejoins Fairmont’s Western Mountain collection of Canadian resorts from his most recent five-year tenure as general manager of Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, Que. His 33 years with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts have included hotel manager positions at Fairmont Chicago — Millennium Park, and Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, Que. He fostered his hospitality career at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Alta. from 1991 – 1998, returning as general manager from 2015 – 2018.
Under his leadership, Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, Que. was named Global Hotel of the Year by the World Luxury Awards in 2022, and ranked among the top three Fairmont hotels in North America for guest experience. In his new capacity, he has plans for a renovation of the hotel’s restaurants and expansion of its terrace.
