Canada hotels record first occupancy decline in three months
After three consecutive months of year-over-year increases, Canada’s hotel industry recorded a decline in occupancy, according to CoStar’s July 2024 data.
Manitoba-based Genesis Hospitality has announced the upcoming build of its Hyatt House hotel property in Thunder Bay, Ont.
The six-storey 129-unit hotel will be on Oliver Road between Golf Links Road and the Thunder Bay Expressway, as reported by Northern Ontario Business.
The company also has plans for a franchise restaurant to be located in a separate building on the same property. It is expected that the hotel will open by the summer of 2025.
