Green Key Global announces new vendor—Fill it Forward
Green Key Global has announced its new Green Key Vendor, Fill it Forward.
Fill it Forward, a Canadian-based social enterprise began in 2015 as an app to allow individuals and organizations to track their environmental impact, and give back every time they reuse. It partners with various organizations, including hotels, to promote sustainability by encouraging the use of reusable products like bottles, cups and bags.
Through the app, guests can scan QR codes on these items each time they reuse them. This process tracks environmental metrics such as the amount of waste diverted from landfills and provides data on the collective impact of reusables. Hotels benefit by showcasing their commitment to sustainability, reducing single-use plastics, and providing guests with an engaging way to contribute to environmental causes.
Over the past ten years, it has eliminated 7.9+ million single-use bottles, cups, and bags. Fill it Forward (formerly Cupanion) was founded to inspire the world to reuse. Earning a score of 131.9 for its commitment to social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency, the company became B‑Corp certified – -and has 7,900,000+ single-use items diverted, and has eliminated millions of single-use plastics from landfills and oceans; highlighting its commitment to reducing waste.
“At Fill it Forward, we create reusable products, interactive technology, and global giving initiatives that inspire the world to reuse. What makes us different is our products connect to the Fill it Forward app, so you can track your positive impact on people and the planet. Every time you reuse, we give back,” says the Fill it Forward team.
