The Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) has welcomed its newly installed 2023-2024 executive committee:
Stephanie Anderson is now the HFTP global president. Anderson has been a member of HFTP for over 21 years and held multiple advisory leadership positions in the association. She has been working as chief financial officer at River Bend Golf and Country for over 18 years. Before this, she worked at PKF Wittmares.
Andrew Buwalda has been appointed as secretary. Buwalda also works as general manager at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ont., and also worked as financial controller, acting controller, assistant controller and resort accountant. Before this, he worked at Freed Corp., Hotel Association of Canada, Skyline Investments, Skyline Hotels & Resorts and InterContinental Hotels Group.
James Bina has been appointed as treasurer, vice president and immediate past president. Bina has also been working as treasurer/director of finance, Rosen Hotels & Resorts in Orlando, Fla. for over 31 years — and also held roles as director of finance, information technology director and assistant corporate controller. Before this, he worked at Millenium Technology Group, Inc. and Holiday Inn Orlando West.
Justin Taillon will also serve as a treasurer, vice president and immediate past president. Taillon’s current role is professor & department head at Highline College. Before this, he worked at the University of Guelph, Texas A&M University, Hilton, Sheraton Suites Houston, The Daily Cougar and Marriott Waterway.
Lastly, Neil Foster serves as the third treasurer, vice president and immediate past president. Foster has been working as a senior technology and process improvement consultant at Tech-Tonic Hospitality Services for over 13 years. Before this, he worked at Coast Hotels, St Helena Government, Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre, HFTP (as a member of the global board of directors,) G7 Hospitality Group Inc, Iceland Travel, Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, British Columbia, SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Micros-Fidelio Asia Pacific, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Toronto and Hamilton and Westin Hotels & Resort, London, Ont.
