The grand opening, held at the state-of-the-art complex, marked a milestone for the city’s hotel and convention landscape.
The event drew a crowd of dignitaries and community leaders, including Sukhdev Toor, CEO of Manga Hotel Group, Kingston Mayor Bryan Paterson, representatives from Hilton, the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce, and Tourism Kingston. The celebration featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by food and drinks at the Cannery Kitchen & Social, the complex's signature restaurant by Manga Hotels.
With a combined total of 256 guestrooms, the DoubleTree by Hilton and Home2 Suites cater to a diverse range of travellers. The complex offers 13,500 square feet of flexible meeting space, including the region’s largest ballroom, designed to host events from conferences to weddings. Additional amenities include ample free parking, a spacious indoor pool, a 1,000-square-foot fitness centre, and the Cannery Kitchen & Social, which promises a modern dining experience for both guests and locals.
"This development brings a significant boost to Kingston's hospitality and tourism sector, providing a versatile venue for both leisure and business travellers," says Mayor Paterson during the ceremony.
The opening of the complex highlights the city’s growing appeal as a destination for conferences, events, and tourism. Positioned as a premier hotel and convention hub, the new facility is expected to attract visitors from across Ontario and beyond.
