“NPG supports the City of Vancouver and we are pleased to advance our position in this iconic development,” says Gino Nonni, CEO of NPG. “Our investment in this project represents a thoughtful approach to the community as well as the integration of architecture and purposeful use elements. This will bring vitality to the neighbourhood while addressing Vancouver’s critical needs for quality rental housing and premium hotel accommodations.”
Located at the intersection of Cambie and Smithe streets, the tower will be near Vancouver entertainment venues, including BC Place Stadium and Rogers Arena. Designed by NPG in collaboration with McKinley Studios, the building aims to transform the streetscape with innovative West Coast architecture, premium materials, and inviting public spaces. A significant highlight will include an upscale, five-star restaurant and bar designed to boost Vancouver’s entertainment offerings and align with Mayor Ken Sim’s initiative to "make the city fun again."
The proposed hotel will offer more than 225 rooms and operate under a 25-year franchise agreement with Marriott International. The hotel will be managed by Hotel Equities and participate in Marriott Bonvoy’s global travel program. Autograph Collection Hotels are celebrated for their unique designs and hospitality approaches, and this property aims to reflect Yaletown’s distinct character and Vancouver’s cultural identity.
Paul Cahill, chief operating officer for Marriott International in Canada, emphasizes the significance of the project for the city’s hospitality market. "Marriott is thrilled to collaborate with NPG and mindfully grow our portfolio in the important and dynamic market of Vancouver," said Cahill. "We believe that developments like this Autograph Collection hotel are important to fulfilling a currently underserved travel demand in the area, and we look forward to working with NPG to welcome guests to the property."
The project has received support from local business and tourism leaders, who highlight the importance of increasing hospitality infrastructure as Vancouver prepares for major events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Royce Chwin, president and CEO of Destination Vancouver, notes, “As Vancouver continues to welcome the world, new hotel developments are essential to support our growing $8.5-billion visitor economy, create jobs, and strengthen our accommodation offerings. Investing in hospitality infrastructure ensures we remain a competitive world-class destination while delivering lasting benefits to our community and businesses alike.”
Jane Talbot, president and CEO of Downtown Van, echoes this sentiment. "As Vancouver continues to grow as a world-class city, with exciting milestones like the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, it’s clear that we need to expand our hospitality infrastructure," says Talbot. "More hotels are essential to meet the demand of the thousands of visitors who will arrive here for major events and tourism. By investing in more rooms and accommodations, we’re ensuring that Vancouver remains a welcoming, accessible destination, while bolstering the local economy."
The development is currently pending approval from the City of Vancouver.
