Sara Glenn, who has more than 25 years of hospitality and asset management experience, has been named senior vice-president, Operations, Canada, Caribbean, Mexico & Central America at
AccorHotels. She began her
career in hotel and resort operations with Delta Hotels & Resorts and then
shifted focus to the ownership and investment side of the business. Working
with Westmont Hospitality Group, Fairmont Raffles Hotels International,
Whetstone Partners and InnVest Hotels, she has a proven track record of
collaborative and results oriented asset management. With her current role, as
SVP Operations at AccorHotels, she is back on the operating side of the
industry. Sara's areas of expertise include financial and operational reviews, capital
expenditure investment analysis and implementation oversight, identification
and analysis of asset utilization opportunities as well as management of merger
and acquisition due diligence for hotels and resorts.

Mike Macklem was named senior account manager hotel financing for CWB Franchise Finance, a branch of the CWB Financial Group, located in Canmore, Alberta. He is responsible for sourcing and managing financing hotel owner/operators and developers with capital for refinancing, new development, and acquisition financing. In 2016, CWB Financial Group acquired GE Capital Franchise Finance division, a business focused on hotel and restaurant lending in Canada since 2002. Macklem’s addition to the team marks CWB’s continued commitment to growth in the hotel and restaurant sectors. He comes to CWB Franchise Finance fromMasterBUILT Hotels, where he was director of business development. Responsible for building new relationships with the company’s outside sales and lead generation channels, Macklem successfully created new business opportunities and developed new strategic partnerships producing multi-property commitments for Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham expansion across the country. Prior to that, Macklem was a realtor, a mortgage broker and an owner/operator in the vacation lodging sector.

Zonetail Inc. has announced that Reetu Gupta, CEO and president of The Gupta Group and Easton’s Group of Hotels has
accepted a position on Zonetail’s Board of Directors. Gupta has worked in
the real estate and hospitality industries for over twenty years. Since
achieving her MBA in 2008, Reetu quickly added hotels to the Easton’s Group of
Hotels portfolio while also diversifying the company’s assets into residential
and commercial real estate in 2012, launching The Gupta Group. She has been awarded
Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2017, and the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce
Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2018, among others.

The
American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) announced that William
“Chip” Rogers
will succeed Katherine Lugar as president and CEO, effective in
the new year. Rogers comes to AHLA with more than 20 years of experience and a
proven track record of success. Rogers
has served as the president and CEO of the Asian American Hotel Owners
Association (AAHOA), the largest U.S. hotel owners association, since 2014. In
this role, he led a team of more than 30 staff members with an annual budget of
$15 million, bringing an unprecedented amount of success to the organization.
Under his leadership, the AAHOA has grown overall membership by 30 percent and
revenue by 62 per cent.

RLH Corporation, formerly
Red Lion Hotels Corporation, has appointed Gene Hagberg director of global sales following the retirement of Chuck Carter, who dedicated 30 years of
service to the innovative hotel company. Hagberg will lead RLH Corporation’s
leisure business, which includes Wholesale FIT and group tour and travel,
after 17 years with national park operator Delaware North.

has also announced the appointment of Julie Shiflett to executive vice-president, chief financial officer and treasurer.Shiflett is
returning to RLH Corporation after having held the position of chief financial officer from 2010 – December 2014, and will oversee all financial elements of the company. Prior to her new role, Shiflett developed her portfolio of more than 30 years of
experience serving as Principle of NorthWest CFO, financial consultant to RLH
Corporation, CFO of Signature Genomic Laboratories, VP of finance and administration of Columbia Paint and Coatings, Co., and CFO of Riley Creek
Lumber Company.
