Hotel MOCO is celebrating its one-year anniversary on June 20, 2024. Since its rebranding from Hôtel Plaza Valleyfield in Quebec on July 1, 2023, Hotel MOCO has merged its historic roots with modern enhancements.
Honouring the legacy of the Montreal Cotton Company, the name "Hotel MOCO" reflects the hotel’s deep connection to Valleyfield’s rich industrial past. Over the past year, guests have experienced a unique blend of heritage and modernity, showcased through our newly renovated lobby, which features industrial elements of concrete and brick that pay tribute to the building’s storied history.
As part of the renovations that were completed this past year, Hotel MOCO’s new tenant, Meraki Restaurant, is open. Meraki offers an invitation to a culinary journey inspired by Mediterranean culture.
Hotel MOCO has completed the renovation of its 127 rooms, ensuring guests enjoy the utmost in modern comforts and amenities. We are also excited to announce that our banquet facilities have been revamped this year. These upgrades enhance our ability to host versatile and elegant business meetings, conferences, and special events, maintaining our status as a premier venue for professional and social gatherings.
Dedicated to promoting slow and eco-friendly tourism, Hotel MOCO offers a multisport storage facility for bicycles, kayaks, and other equipment. This allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the surrounding natural beauty. Whether enjoying a scenic bike ride along picturesque trails or an adventure on the crystal-clear waters in a kayak, guests can experience the region's splendour sustainably and responsibly.
With 20,000 square feet of event space, Hotel MOCO remains a prime destination for weddings, social, and corporate events. Our largest hall can accommodate up to 300 people, providing a spacious and elegant venue for special occasions.
This milestone anniversary is part of a $10 million investment in the hotel's renovations.
Previously known as Sageblan Investments, the company that owns Hotel MOCO has rebranded itself as Artifact Group to better reflect its extensive project portfolio, commitment to heritage, and pursuit of timeless and relevant ventures. Artifact Group boasts other renowned hotels, including Vogue Hôtel Montréal, Double Tree by Hilton Montreal, Delta Hotels Québec by Marriott, and Hyatt Place Montréal Centre-Ville.
