The extensive transformation, designed to enhance guest experience while preserving the hotel’s signature French elegance, is the first major renovation since the property opened in 2002. The establishment boasts 256 rooms, including 17 suites, a bar, the renowned Renoir restaurant, and over 10,000 square meters of meeting and event spaces.
Located in the heart of Montreal, near the Museum of Fine Arts and Mount Royal Park, the five-star hotel is known for its luxurious accommodations, fine dining, and hospitality. The renovation project, led by the acclaimed 2piR design firm, will modernize the interiors while maintaining the brand’s signature sophistication.
The refurbishment is being completed in phases. The first phase focuses on the hotel’s entrance, lobby, and Renoir restaurant, which is celebrated for its refined cuisine. The second phase will renovate meeting spaces and the fitness centre, while the final phase will upgrade guest rooms. The entire project is expected to be completed by fall 2025, with the hotel remaining operational throughout the process.
“We are proud to unveil this revitalization, which will further enhance the guest experience while staying true to Sofitel’s heritage,” says Marc Pichot, general manager, Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile. “This transformation will seamlessly blend modern comfort with the hotel’s renowned French-inspired charm.”
Renoir restaurant, an iconic part of the hotel, is also undergoing a significant redesign. The new space will offer a more contemporary ambiance while continuing to serve innovative cuisine crafted by executive chef, Olivier Perret. A dedicated bar area is being introduced, providing an enhanced social and dining experience.
