STR Canada results for week ending Oct. 31, 2020

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. — STR data for Oct. 25-31, 2020 showed slightly lower occupancy from prior weeks for Canada’s hotel industry.

Oct. 25-31, 2020 (percentage change from comparable week in 2019):

• Occupancy: 29.2 per cent (-49.8 per cent)

• Average daily rate (ADR): C$109.77 (-25.9 per cent)

• Revenue per available room (RevPAR): C$32.10 (-62.8 per cent)

Occupancy for previous weeks came in at 31.1 per cent (Oct. 24), 29.9 per cent (Oct. 17), and 32.2 per cent (Oct. 10), respectively.

For the week ending with Oct. 31, British Columbia recorded the highest occupancy level (35.6 per cent) among the provinces.

Vancouver (33.0 per cent) was the only major market at or above a 30% occupancy level.

The lowest occupancy among provinces was reported in Quebec (16.5 per cent). At the market level, the lowest occupancy was reported in Montreal (13.8 per cent).
