Calgary Hotel Association appoints James Scott to board of directors
The Calgary Hotel Association has appointed James Scott to its board of directors, on an interim term basis prior to its annual general meeting scheduled for May 8, 2024.
Scott is the senior vice president of planning and development at the PBA Group of Companies.
He oversees all stages of new project development, municipal and community relations, strategic planning, asset development and is leading development of a soon to be three property portfolio (including the dual branded Dorian & Courtyard). He is also currently serving a second two-year term as a member of the Calgary Subdivision and Development Appeal Board — and his acumen and reputation in urban planning in Calgary will be a significant asset to the Calgary Hotel Association.
In addition, his previous roles with PBA were vice president corporate development, vice president operations and vice president, planning. Before that, he worked at Calgary Planning Commission, Stantec and Three Sisters Mountain Village, Ltd.
