The Hotel Association of Canada (HAC) announced its 2024 board of directors at its annual general meeting at the 2024 HAC Annual Conference this past week in Montreal.
The Hotel Association of Canada welcomes new directors Laura Pallotta, Marriott International and Alnoor Gulamani, Bayview Group — and congratulates returning directors Mandy Farmer of Accent Inns; Tracy Douglas-Blowers of the Alberta Hotel & Lodging Association and Carey Power of the Hotel Association of Nova Scotia.
Pallota is a hospitality business leader with a solid reputation for driving sales performance, increasing market share, improving customer loyalty and leading change management/integration. Her current role is vice president and distribution, and she has been working with Marriott for nearly 10 years, and her previous roles were executive director, sales and director of sales and marketing at Delta Hotels and Resorts.
Gulamani is a founder and CEO with success in real estate development and ownership. His current role is president, and he has been working with Bayview Group for nearly 24 years. Before that, he worked at Buckingham Hospitality Inc.
Diversity and inclusion are integral to HAC’s long-term, strategic vision. Notably, the association has fulfilled the 2024 targets set out in its board diversity policy and by the Canada 50 – 30 Challenge, achieving 50 per cent gender parity and 30 per cent diversity targets within its current leadership. This accomplishment underscores HAC’s proactive approach to creating a more representative and inclusive hospitality sector.
