The St. Regis Toronto has unveiled its newly redesigned ballrooms, redefining luxury event spaces in the city. Partnering with award-winning design firm Mason Studio, the transformation aims to blend sophistication of the St. Regis brand with contemporary artistry, sustainability, and references to the City of Toronto.
The redesigned St. Regis Ballroom on the 10th floor and the Astor Ballroom on the 9th floor officially opened on April 1, 2025.
The new ballrooms reflect three key inspirations drawn from the city’s dynamic character:
Guests are welcomed through a carefully considered transition space, punctuated by a dramatic staircase repurposed in smooth plaster and enhanced with uplighting. The redesign offers subtle, neutral and monochromatic tones, delicate textures, and gentle contrasts–-with sculptural seating areas encouraging casual interactions before entering the grand ballrooms.
A standout feature of the redesign is a custom lighting installation, fabricated locally by Concord Lighting–-and inspired by Toronto’s vibrant urban character. Warm brass undertones enhance the visual richness, and lighting is in a warm tone, designed to serve as a refined backdrop. Additionally, a distinctive brass feature screen frames guests during events.
“We are thrilled to unveil our newly renovated Ballrooms, which blend timeless elegance with modern sophistication," says Hiren Prabhakar, general manager, The St. Regis Toronto. "Designed to celebrate every occasion with the utmost elegance, our reimagined Ballrooms offer an unparalleled setting for unforgettable moments. We look forward to welcoming guests to experience the next chapter of luxury at The St. Regis Toronto.”
In alignment with St. Regis’s commitment to sustainability, Mason Studio strategically preserved and reimagined existing architectural elements to minimize waste and maximize impact.
