The School of Hospitality, Food & Tourism Management - University of Guelph has announced Dr. Statia Elliot’s retirement from her full professor role.
Elliot has been with the university for nearly 17 years, with her most recent role being full professor. Before that, she worked as interim associate dean, external relations, director, associate professor and assistant professor.
She has been a dedicated faculty member to the University of Guelph, Lang School of Business and Economics — University of Guelph, and the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management (HFTM). She also served as HFTM director and interim associate dean of external relations for Lang — and has remained active within the industry sitting as chair of the Ontario Tourism Education Corporation Board of Directors, as a past President of the Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA) of Canada, past board member of the Tourism Alliance of Western and Northern Canada, and the Canadian Tourism Commission Research Committee.
Before that, she worked at Destinations Canada and Travel Manitoba.
