Vancouver’s Fairmont Waterfront appoints new GM, Randall Z. Williams
Fairmont Waterfront has announced the appointment of Randall Z. Williams as general manager. Williams brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished career in the hospitality industry, having most recently served as general manager of Fairmont Vancouver Airport.
Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Williams began his hospitality journey at the historical Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia in 1999, where he participated in the Management Development Program. Over the years, he advanced through various food and beverage operational roles, eventually becoming the resort operations manager.
In 2006 Williams took on his first role of general manager and since, has held progressive leadership roles overseeing mid-scale to luxury hotels and resorts across the United States, including properties under the Wyndham, Hyatt, and 21c Museum Hotel brands.
In 2022, Williams joined Fairmont Vancouver Airport as general manager, where he led the team to continued success, maintaining the hotel’s status as North America’s #1 Airport Hotel by Skytrax for nine consecutive years.
Williams now joins the team at Vancouver’s Fairmont Waterfront, an iconic luxury hotel celebrated for its coastal location and offerings. His service-first leadership style and commitment to leading by example have consistently made a positive impact on both his teams and the communities he has served. “I am thrilled to join the Fairmont Waterfront team, a hotel that truly embodies the essence of Pure Coastal Luxury,” states Williams. “Together, we will continue to elevate the hotel’s reputation as a premier destination in one of the world’s most beautiful cities.”
With a career spanning over two decades, Williams has been an integral member of Accor’s leadership team and within the communities where he has lived and worked. He held the chair and co-chair positions on Accor’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee for the North & Central America region from 2020 to 2022.
