The Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto, Ont. has announced the launch of the first phase of its $50 million guest room revitalization project, marking a significant milestone in the hotel's commitment to providing an elevated and rejuvenating experience for its guests.
The renovations are currently underway and scheduled for completion in 2025, in time for the hotel's 50th anniversary celebration.
The initial phase encompasses the transformation of 450 guest rooms, majority of which are now available for new bookings—with the hotel displaying a contemporary ambiance featuring wood finishes and a colour palette drawn from the serene hues of Lake Ontario. The revitalized rooms not only reflect the Westin brand's commitment to providing a restful environment but also align with the hotel's sustainability program.
The newly renovated bathrooms have a water filtration system, reducing the need for disposable plastic bottles. Guests are welcome to bring their own reusable water bottle from home or purchase one featuring a Toronto graphic as a souvenir.
The Westin Heavenly branding has been extended to the bathrooms, introducing a range of new amenities to enhance the overall guest experience. The commitment to wellness extends beyond the guest rooms, as demonstrated by the newly expanded gym. This facility features a yoga and Meditation Studio, complete with Studio by Lululemon.
Perched on the shoreline of Toronto’s waterfront and a natural harbour, the hotel straddles two worlds, the dynamic energy of the downtown core and the serene, protected landscape of Lake Ontario. The hotel's 977 guest rooms place guests close to prominent attractions such as Rogers Centre, Scotiabank Arena, CN Tower and Exhibition Place. The hotel is also home to Canada’s largest ballroom at 25,000 square feet.
The hotel is also home to a robust urban beekeeping program overseen by the Bowery Project, which also operates the rooftop chef’s garden. Two beehives located on the fifth-floor terrace allows the property to cultivate its own honey.
"We are thrilled to unveil a sampling of our fully renovated guest rooms, designed to promote health and wellness, superior rest, sustainability, and the connection to our location between Lake Ontario and the bustling city of Toronto," says Peter Gillis, general manager of The Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto. "These renovations are a testament to our commitment to providing an exceptional experience for our guests, and we look forward to completing the first phase."
